Selver Hodžić (born October 12, 1978 in Brčko , SFR Yugoslavia , today Bosnia and Herzegovina ) is a former Bosnian- Swiss football player . He is a trained toolmaker .

Selver Hodžić fled his home in Bosnia with his mother and sister at the age of 15 in 1993 because of the outbreak of the wars in Yugoslavia - with only two suitcases. Hodžić spent eight months in Hungary before coming to Switzerland, where his father, himself a former professional footballer, had built a new life.

In Switzerland, the defender now played for the juniors of FC Rotkreuz and a little later for its fourth division team. Before the 2002/03 season, Hodžić came to FC Thun in the Swiss Super League via the stations Zug 94 (1st division), FC Luzern (National League A), SC Buochs ​​(1st division) and FC Baden (National League B) . With FC Thun he was also runner-up in the 2004/05 season. In the 2005/06 season Selver Hodžić was part of the Thun team, which qualified for the group games of the UEFA Champions League . In the match between FC Thun and AC Sparta Prague , he scored the decisive goal for a 1-0 victory in the 89th minute.

On June 25, 2007 he signed a two-year contract with the Israeli association Bnei Yehuda Tel Aviv . The following year he joined Neuchâtel Xamax , where he was regularly used in the top Swiss league. In June 2010 he finally moved to FC Lugano . After one year, for the 2011/2012 season, he moved to FC Wohlen , where he ended his career after two years.
