Bne Jehuda Tel Aviv is an Israeli football club that was founded in 1936 in the south of Tel Aviv in the ha-Tiqwa district. The association bears his name because the religious founding fathers of the association decided to found it in that week whose weekly reading begins with the words "Judah came to him" ( wajigasch elaw jehuda ; Hebrew "ויגש אליו יהודה") Gen 44.18  EU . The club colors are orange-black.

history

Bne Jehuda won the Israeli championship once (1989/1990 season), the State Cup three times (1968, 1981 and 2017) and the Toto Cup twice (1992 and 1997). Bne Jehuda also took part in the UEFA Intertoto Cup twice (1986/87 and 1989/90). In the nineties, the club mostly fought to keep the Ligat ha'Al relegated, but since 2000 it has turned into a midfield team. The 2005/06 season was the most successful in years. Bne Jehuda reached the final of the State Cup for the fifth time in the club's history after Maccabi Haifa was defeated 2-0 after extra time in the semifinals . In the final, however, the team lost 1-0 to Hapoel Tel Aviv in front of 15,000 of their supporters with a goal in the final minutes. The league finished the club in fourth place, which brought participation in the 2006/07 UEFA Cup . Bne Jehuda met Lokomotive Sofia in the second qualifying round and was defeated 0: 2 and 0: 4.

In the 2007/08 season, the team was eliminated in the quarter-finals against Hapoel Tel Aviv. The championship ended in a disappointing 9th place, just one point ahead of the relegation places. The team under coach Guy Luzon started the 2008/09 season in less good form, but came into the game better in the second half of the season and ended the game year in 5th place. The team even inherited the Europa League place of Beitar Jerusalem after the club was in financial difficulties. Bne Jehuda finally failed in the play-offs at PSV Eindhoven . Nevertheless, this season was quite successful for the club. In the cup you had to admit defeat 1: 3 against Hapoel Tel Aviv in the final. In the league, the team reached 5th place, but was able to improve to 4th place in the play-offs and thus qualify for the 2010/11 UEFA Europa League .

There they were eliminated in the second round after a draw and defeat by Shamrock Rovers in the second round. The national cup also ended early. In the league, the scenario of the previous year was repeated: the team started the play-offs with a fifth place and was able to improve again to fourth place. The qualification for the 2011/12 UEFA Europa League ended in the third round against Helsingborgs IF .
