Sema Poyraz

Sema Poyraz (born March 7, 1950 in Turkey ) is a German actress , film director and screenwriter .

From 1973 Poyraz studied at the German Film and Television Academy in Berlin . Her graduation film Gölge - Future of Love (1980) can be described as the early starting point of a so-called German-Turkish cinema . In it, she describes the sexual awakening of the young schoolgirl Gölge, the daughter of immigrant parents from Turkey, her longings, trying things out in front of the mirror and Gölge's efforts to find her own place in Berlin-Kreuzberg in the 1970s / 1980s between migrant and German life to find. Poyraz then made other short and feature films, such as her feature film Oda (1994), which was awarded the title “particularly valuable” .
