Semen (Semjon) Poskotin Merkel ( Russian Семён Поскотин (Меркель); born December 29, 1983 in Medvedezkoe, Soviet Union ) is a Russian-German kickboxer . Since 2009 he has been a full contact kickboxing world champion in the weight class up to 72.5 kg.

Semen Poskotin was born in the Soviet Union in 1983 . His mother's ancestors were Russian Germans . His family emigrated to Germany in 2005. In addition to his native Russian, he also speaks German, English and Spanish. In 2008 he began studying business administration at the Hof University of Applied Sciences , which he completed with a master's degree.

Semen Poskotin started boxing when he was 9 years old . He played over 300 amateur boxing matches under the coach Aleksandr Ivanovitsch Zaharov, was a member of the Russian and German youth boxing team and the German national boxing team, before he switched to kickboxing. In the martial arts center Steko he was prepared for professional sport by the kickboxing trainers Mladen Steko , Pavlica Steko and Zvonko Josipovic. As a professional, he has been able to achieve world championship titles in four kickboxing world associations in the weight class up to 72.5 kg since 2009.

The television station SAT.1 has had an exclusive contract with Steko's Fight Night since 2011 . During this martial arts event, the WKU World Championship fights are usually held.

Poskotin is the chairman of the non-profit organization "Sibirienhaus". For his commitment in the field of sport, culture and social work, he received the golden cross of merit from the mayor of Munich Christian Ude.
