Semicossyphus is a genus of wrasse that includes three species andis nativeto various locations in the Pacific Ocean .
The three types reach maximum lengths of 70 to 100 centimeters. The oldest known specimen was a representative of the species Semicossyphus pulcher and was 53 years old. The animals can reach a maximum weight of four ( darwini ) or about 15 kilograms ( pulcher and reticulatus ).

- Semicossyphus pulcher ( Ayres , 1854)
- Semicossyphus reticulatus ( Valenciennes , 1839)
Danger
The IUCN classifies the population of the species Semicossyphus pulcher as "decreasing" and indicates the endangerment status of the other two species as "unknown".
