Semi-probabilistic partial safety concept

The semi-probabilistic partial safety concept is a safety concept that is used in construction for dimensioning in a static calculation . It has been state of the art since the introduction of the Eurocodes . It takes statistical standard deviations into account both on the action side and on the resistance side . Eurocode 0 requires proof that the probability of failure is lower than that depending on the type of building, and allows the semi-probabilistic safety concept that is described in Eurocodes 1 and 8 for loads and for resistances 2–7 and 9.

The semi-probabilistic partial safety concept has z. B. in reinforced concrete has been established for a long time, in other areas such. B. masonry or foundation construction , it did not prevail until later.
