Semyon Lvovich Ginsburg

Semyon Lvovich Ginsburg ( Russian Семён Львович Гинзбург * 10 . Jul / 23. May  1901 greg. In Kiev , † 1978 , even Semen L. Ginzburg ) was a Russian musicologist .

Ginsburg was a student of Boris Vladimirovich Assafiev . In 1925 he became a lecturer and in 1935 professor at the Leningrad Conservatory . His main work is the "History of Russian Music in Examples" (3 volumes, 1968–1970). Ginsburg wrote numerous treatises on the music of the 1920s and on Russian classical music.
