Semyon Pavlovich Kozyrev

Semyon Pavlovich Kozyrew ( Russian Семён Павлович Козырев ; born April 15, 1907 in Saint Petersburg , † August 15, 1991 ) was a Soviet ambassador .

Life

Semyon Pavlovich Kozyrev was a member of the CPSU and studied in Moscow jurisprudence . In 1939 he was Deputy General Secretary of the People's Commissariat of the USSR. From 1939 to 1943 he was Deputy People's Commissar for Foreign Affairs of the USSR. In 1943 he was General Secretary of the People's Commissariat of the USSR, member of the Board of Directors of the USSR People's Commissariat. In 1943 he was sent as counselor to the USSR embassy in exiled Allied governments in London . From 1943 to 1944 he was Counselor at the Soviet Embassy at the French Committee for National Liberation in Algiers . From 1944 to 1945 he was counselor at the Soviet embassy in Paris . From 1945 to 1949 he headed the Europe department in the Foreign Office in Moscow, which was called the People's Commissariat until 1946. From 1953 to 1955 he headed the personnel department of the Foreign Office in Moscow. From 1953 to 1957 he sat on the Presidium of the Moscow Foreign Ministry. From 1966 to 1983 he was Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of the USSR.

He took part in the Potsdam Conference , the Paris Peace Conference in 1946 , the third UN conference on the law of the sea (1975-1982), at which the Convention on the Law of the Sea was negotiated, and the second UN conference on the exploration and peaceful use of space.
