The Völklingen transmitter is a transmission system for broadcasting radio signals. It is located on the Hoheberg, southwest of the Wehrden district of the city of Völklingen and supplies the surrounding areas. A transmission tower in the form of a free-standing concrete tower is used as the antenna carrier .
Originally it was built by the Deutsche Bundespost and is now part of Deutsche Funkturm GmbH , a subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom AG.
The Wehrden radio station of the Saarland broadcasting company is about 2.5 km away .
