Saar TV was a private regional television station for the Saarland . The program was fed into the cable network nationwide and was also broadcast via antenna. In the time without its own program, the program was initially adopted by tm3 and later by its successor 9live . After the television station had to file for bankruptcy in February 2009 and no further financing options were found, broadcasting was stopped on May 31, 2009. However, a live stream could still be seen on the station's homepage. Today only the 9Live logo can be seen on the livestream. After the decision of the private provider center.tv not to put a regional program originally planned for Saarland into operation, the Saarland state media authority negotiated with the operator of Saar TV, Funkhaus Saar GmbH, about a new regional program.
The successor CiTi.TV started on March 1, 2010 and ceased broadcasting on January 31, 2012 for economic reasons.
