The SenerTec combined heat and power systems GmbH is a Franconian mechanical engineering company based in Schweinfurt . It was founded in March 1996 to produce and market the Dachs mini combined heat and power unit .

history

Since 1996 SenerTec Kraft-Wärme-Energiesysteme GmbH has been producing and selling the Dachs, the first micro-CHP system to be mass-produced . The roots of SenerTec, like those of the roof, lie in Fichtel & Sachs (now ZF Sachs), a supplier to the automotive industry. There was one in 1979 for a combustion engine-powered air / water heat pump cylinder - engine developed. It was later integrated into a heating system based on the principle of combined heat and power (CHP).

With over 36,000 installed Dachs micro-CHP systems, the company claims to be the market leader in Europe.

In 2017 the company employed around 150 people and had a Europe-wide network of around 1,000 partners. SenerTec has been part of the BDR Thermea group of companies since 2009 .

Products

The Dachs product family from SenerTec simultaneously generates heat and electricity based on the principle of combined heat and power . With their compact size, these systems should represent a decentralized alternative to the separate generation of electricity in large power plants and heat in the boiler, which, depending on the model, are equally suitable for residential buildings as electricity-generating heating and commercial operations.

Suitable fuels for the original Dachs are natural gas, liquid gas (Dachs G / F 5.5), but also heating oil and biodiesel (RME) (Dachs HR 5.3). There are also so-called low NOx systems with reduced emissions.

Since 2011, SenerTec has been selling the Dachs Stirling SE, a micro-CHP system with a Stirling engine and 1 kW electrical output for properties with moderate heat requirements (e.g. single-family houses).

In 2014 a cooperation with Volkswagen for the sale of the mini-cogeneration unit EcoBlue 2.0 was announced.

Since 2015, SenerTec has been dealing with micro-CHP systems based on fuel cell technology. In the following year, SenerTec announced a joint cooperation with Toshiba Fuel Cell Power Systems and the expansion of the product portfolio to include the Dachs InnoGen with fuel cell.

In March 2017, the company and the Hamburg eco-energy provider LichtBlick communicated a cooperation to develop an electricity community.
