The Sentinel Ice Stream is an ice stream on the English coast of the Palmerland in the southern part of the Antarctic Peninsula . It flows to the George VI Ice Shelf in George VI Sound , which it reaches northwest of the Yee Nunatakker and 30 km southeast of DeAtley Island .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 2018. It is named after the Sentinel satellites of the European Copernicus program , which were used for remote sensing of the Antarctic.
