Seo first appeared internationally in January 2017 at the Junior World Championships in Innsbruck . There she won with second place over 1000 m and first place over 1500 m, the silver medal in the all-around competition. At the Junior World Championships in Montreal in 2019 , she won the 1500 m and the gold medal with the relay. At the beginning of the 2019/20 season, she started the World Cup in Salt Lake City for the first time . She achieved 15th place over 1500 m, fifth place over 1000 m and, with third place in the mixed relay, got her first podium finish in the World Cup. This was followed by two second places over 1000 m and a second and third place with the mixed relay. In addition, she was third in the relay in Dordrecht and came third in the 1000 m World Cup at the end of the season. In January 2020, she won the silver medal in the four continents championships in Montreal over 1500 m and in all-around competitions and the bronze medal with the mixed relay and the gold medal over 500 m and 1000 m at the Winter Youth Olympic Games in Lausanne .
