The Sepon ( Vietnamese : Sông Xê Pôn , Lao : Xépôn ) is a small river in Laos and Vietnam . It forms the border between the two states near the Vietnamese town of Lao Bảo in the province of Quảng Trị . It rises near the border in the Lao province of Salavan and flows into the Xebanghiang , a tributary of the Mekong , near the city of Xépôn in the province of Savannakhet .
The sepon has an approximate depth of 1 meter, its width is up to 100 meters.
