Sera Cahoone (born August 4, 1975 in Denver , Colorado , USA ) is an American musician and singer who mixes country music with elements of indie rock in her music .

Life

Cahoone is the daughter of a dynamite salesman and grew up in Littleton, Colorado . She attended Columbine High School . At the age of twelve she started playing the drums . In 1998 she went to Seattle , Washington State, and was subsequently the drummer for groups such as Carissa's Weird and Band of Horses and for Patrick Park.

Since 2006, Cahoone has focused on singing, songwriting and guitar playing and released her first CD Sera Cahoone . This first release was followed by two more CDs. In 2012, some of their songs in the movie Jamie and Jessie Are Not Used together as film music were used.

Sera Cahoone took part in the Waves Vienna Festival in Vienna in 2012 .

Cahoon's former life partner is the American soccer player Megan Rapinoe on the United States women's national soccer team . The couple announced their engagement in August 2015 .
