The riblji chilies or chilies FIS is a kind of fish stew from Southeast Europe . It is usually a stew (but can also be prepared as a fish soup ), which is prepared on the basis of edible fish , with a particularly large amount of peppers and onions.

In addition to carp and catfish , a piece of pike or pikeperch is also often cooked as this gives the dish a more intense taste. There are different regional dishes of this kind, which differ depending on the type of fish and ingredients.

It is traditionally cooked outdoors in a large kettle over the fire. The dish is cooked for two hours. Do not stir while cooking as this will destroy the fish. Instead, the pot is shaken from time to time. It is served with cooked wide noodles. In some areas around Apatin , potatoes are also cooked, but then served without pasta.

A related dish is the Halászlé, known in Hungary .
