Serdar Çam

Serdar Çam (born March 30, 1966 in Ankara ) is the head of the Turkish Presidium for International Cooperation and Coordination (TİKA).

life and career

Because of his father's diplomatic activities in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus , he graduated from the private school Türk Maarif Koleji (TMK) in Nicosia after completing his primary school education in Libya and France .

After graduating from the Middle East Technical University (Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi) with a degree in chemistry, Çam received his master's degree from the University of Boston . He wrote his doctoral thesis in the field of international marketing at Marmara University .

From 1992 to 2002, Çam worked as a high-level manager in various companies in Istanbul and Ankara. In the meantime, he taught international investment , international trade and management at various universities in Turkey.

From 2002 to 2009, Çam was Prime Minister Erdoğan's chief advisor . At the same time he worked in the field of foreign trade and foreign policy.

Between 2009 and 2011, Çam was the head of cabinet of the Speaker of the Turkish Parliament .

On June 5, 2011 he was appointed President of TİKA.

Serdar Çam is fluent in English, French and German. He is married and has three children.
