The death doom band Serenity was founded in 1994 a. a. Founded by Gary Riley (drums), Lee Baines (guitar) and Brendan Dawson (bass), who were members of the English doom metal band Solstice until 1993 .

Even in the first year one appeared demo - tape with three songs, which to a record deal with the French label Holy Records led. There are or were musically comparable bands like u. a. Misery , Nightfall , Silent People and Yearning under contract.

Serenity released a total of two albums through Holy Records, and individual tracks were included on various label samplers . At the end of the 1990s, the band quietly broke up.
