Serge Gainsbourg is the name of a tunnel station under construction on line 11 of the Paris Métro . It is located in Les Lilas in the Seine-Saint-Denis department , a few kilometers east of the Paris city limits. The station is located under the Boulevard du Général-Leclerc-de-Hautecloque.

Jane Birkin , Serge Gainsbourg's former partner , agreed to name the station after the singer, who died in 1991. The city of Les Lilas also wants to erect a bronze statue of Gainsbourg, from which the song Le Poinçonneur des Lilas comes.

The station is scheduled to open in 2023. It is part of the extension of six stations from Mairie des Lilas to Rosny-Bois-Perrier . Construction work began on December 10, 2016.

The project name for this station was Liberté .
