Sergei Stanislawowitsch Arekajew ( Russian Сергей Станиславович Арекаев ; born September 22, 1978 in Elektrostal , Russian SFSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player who has been under contract with Molot-Prikamje Perm in the Vysschaja Hockey League since 2010 .

Career

Sergei Arekajew began his career as a hockey player in the youth department of HK Spartak Moscow , for whose professional team he was active from 1999 to 2003, initially in the Wysschaja Liga , the second Russian division, and after promotion in 2001 in the Superliga . After the team was relegated to the second division again in 2003, the winger was under contract with Ak Bars Kazan , HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk , Severstal Tscherepowez , Chimik Moskowskaja Oblast and Amur Khabarowsk in the super league for the next five years .

For the 2008/09 season Arekajew was committed by HK MWD Balaschicha from the newly founded Continental Hockey League . After only 15 games he changed clubs and signed with MWD's league rivals Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk . There he began the following season , but after only two matchdays he joined his ex-club Amur Khabarovsk, for whom he played in the following year and a half. In the middle of the 2010/11 season he moved to Molot-Prikamje Perm from the Wysschaja Hockey League .
