Sergio Gimeno starts for the EMEM military sports club . He has won 12 medals at Spanish Biathlon Championships since 2005 . In 2006 he won medals in all four championship races, two each in summer and two in winter. Gimeno won his first and so far only title in the 2008 summer biathlon sprint. Internationally, he competed in several European Cup races in 2007 . Both in Turin and in Forni Avoltri he achieved his best results with 76th places in sprint races. There was also a tenth place in a relay race in Forni Avoltri.
In 2005 and 2010 Gimeno also took part in the cross-country skiing championships and in 2010 just missed a medal in the 10-kilometer freestyle as fourth. In 2007 he was eighth in an FIS 10-kilometer freestyle race . At the Military World Ski Championships in 2008 , he reached 62nd place over 15-kilometer freestyle.
