Sergio Macedo
Sergio Macedo (born April 8, 1951 in Além Paraíba ) is a Brazilian cartoonist .
Macedo initially worked as an advertising illustrator in Brazil and came to France in the mid-1970s. He published there in Circus magazine and soon his first album Fume, c´est du Macedo was released . Then he switched to the magazine Métal hurlant , where the stories Psychorock and Telechamp appeared. From 1982 the mystical odysseys Caribes (German: Karibis ), Voyage Intemporel (German: The timeless journey) and Vic Voyage (German: White brother of the Kayapo ) followed again for the magazine Circus .
Macedo's almost photorealistic works are heavily influenced by Richard Corben . Thematically, his stories revolve around spirituality, eroticism and drug fantasies. In Germany, his albums were published by Volksverlag and sequels in Schwermetall magazine .
