Sergio Santín , full name Sergio Rodolfo Santín Spinelli , (born August 6, 1956 in Salto ) is a former Uruguayan football player .

Career

society

The 1.78 meter tall midfielder Santín played for Danubio from 1975 to 1980 inclusive . In 1980 he then moved to Colombia to Cúcuta Deportivo . There he was under contract until 1982. That year he joined CD Pereira before choosing his third position in Colombian club football from 1983 to 1986 at Atlético Nacional . In 1986, Santín became involved with FC Santos . From 1987 to 1988 he played again in Colombia. The employer at that time was América de Cali . There Santín reached with his club in 1987 the finals for the Copa Libertadores , in which he was each on the starting line-up. The trophy had to be given to Peñarol after losing 1-0 in the play-off. Santín was then from 1989 to 1990 the squad of Peñarols in the Primera División . The last career station is Once Caldas from 1990 to 1991 .

National team

Santín was also a member of the senior team of Uruguay , for which he completed 18 international matches between July 18, 1980 and June 16, 1986. He did not score an international goal. Santín took part in the 1986 World Cup with Uruguay . There he was used in all group matches as well as in the round of 16 against Argentina.
