The Serra dos Cocais is a mountain range in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais . It is located in the Vale do Aço region in the territory of the municipalities of Coronel Fabriciano , Ipatinga , Antônio Dias and Santana do Paraíso .

It has an average height of 500 to 800 m and a maximum height of 1200 m above sea level. NN. It shows remains of the Mata Atlântica , while other parts are reforested with eucalyptus . Frequently encountered plants are palms like Attalea dubia , Tibouchina granulosa , Tabebuia chrysantha and numerous bromeliads .
