Seti (also SETI ) is a Chilean progressive rock project by Claudio Momberg, which was founded in 2001.

Band history

Momberg, keyboard player at Subterra a. a., was suggested in 2001 by Mylodon Records for a solo album. He began writing pieces or working on material unused by his main band. Jaime Scalpello from Entrance and Eduardo Cuesta from Subterra were hired as singers and drummers respectively. A number of other musicians contributed to the bass and guitar recordings for the debut album , which was released in 2005.

It was only shortly before the publication of Life Signs that Momberg decided to name the project after Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence . He decided against the originally intended name Seven when Tony Banks released a solo album of that name in 2004.

Jaime Scalpello and Eduardo Cuesta played the second album in addition to several guest musicians. a. Damian Wilson ( Threshold ) could be won as a guest singer. Discoveries was released in 2010; a live album, which also included two new pieces, followed in 2011. The work on the third studio album, which was released in late summer 2016, took several years to complete. From the previous line-up, only singer Scalpello and bassist Ramos were involved, and for the first time a singer was part of the band with Paula Vilches. Damian Wilson was again a guest singer; and Steve Rothery and Clive Nolan ( Pendragon , Arena ) could be won for guest posts.
