Hazembourg (German: Hassenburg ) is a French commune with 138 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It is part of the Sarreguemines arrondissement and the Sarralbe canton .

geography

The community is located about 30 kilometers south of Saarbrücken on the southern edge of the Albetal .

history

The place was first mentioned in 1538 as Hassombourg . Other names were Hayembourg (1664), Hassembourg (1755) and Hasembourg (1801).
