Ernestviller (German: Ernstweiler ) is a French commune with 503 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the Sarreguemines arrondissement , the Sarralbe canton and the Sarreguemines Confluences municipality .

geography

The community is located seven kilometers southwest of Sarreguemines and therefore close to the border with Saarland . The district of Heckenransbach belongs to the community .

history

The community was founded in 1603 by Count Ernest de Mansfeld .
