Ippling (German Iplingen ) is a French commune with 785 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the Sarreguemines arrondissement .

geography

The municipality of Ippling is located immediately west of Sarreguemines , on the highway to Saint-Avold, at an altitude between 208 and 298 m above sea level. The municipality covers 3.29 km².

history

The village was first mentioned as Ilbinga in 1267 . Then Ipplingen (1700) and Iplingen (1751).
