history
The old Roman road runs from Bliesbruck towards Metz over the height west of the Altkirchertal (French: vallée d'Altkirch ) . There are about a dozen places with Roman traces in Bining's boundary. When it was first mentioned in 1351, it belonged to Zweibrücken-Bitsch and soon afterwards came as a fief to Gerhard von Warsberg. Around 1935, Bining was included in the Maginot Line as a defense against the Third Reich . After the start of the war in 1939 until mid-1940, the residents were evacuated to Exideuil in the Charente department . From December 1944 to January 1945, Bining was subjected to heavy bombing.

Culture and sights
Despite the bombing during World War II , some properties have survived from the 18th century. Particularly interesting was the Gasthaus zur Linde with figures and reliefs from 1711, located in the center of the village. In addition to the rural reliefs on the window walls, which depict peasants at work, the unique plaster coffers between the cover beams with religious symbols were worth seeing. Unfortunately, the building, which is worth preserving, was largely rebuilt and changed around 2010, so that the historical original can no longer be recognized. The reliefs from the window walls are at least built into the facade. Among the many Lorraine crosses is the oldest in the entire Bitsch region. It bears the year 1629 and is on the way to Schmittviller .
