Seton Montolieu Montgomerie
Seton Montolieu Montgomerie (born May 15, 1846 in London , † November 26, 1883 in Windsor , Berkshire ) was a Scottish nobleman and tennis player.
Life
Seton Montgomerie, an older brother of George Arnulph Montgomerie , was born in London in 1846. His parents were Archibald Montgomerie, the 13th Earl of Eglington, and Theresa Newcomen. On June 11, 1870, he married Nina Janet Bronwen Williams, with whom he had three daughters. Montgomerie temporarily served as a lieutenant in the Scots Guards regiment .
As a tennis player, he took part in the Wimbledon Championships in 1878 and 1880 , but did not get past the second round.
He died in 1883 at the age of 37.
