Sfaka ( Greek Σφάκα ( f. Sg. )) Is a village in the municipality of Sitia in the municipality of Sitia on the Greek Mediterranean island of Crete .

Sfaka is about halfway between Agios Nikolaos (33 km) and Sitia (40 km) on the national road 90 ( European route 75 ). The neighboring towns are Lastros in the west and Tourloti in the east. A cul-de-sac leads north to Mochlos and the sea. The main road divides the place into a southern and a northern part.
history
Sfaka was first mentioned as part of a Venetian census of 1583 with the name " Sfaca ". At that time there were 244 inhabitants. The former name of the place is said to have been Milia. The current name is said to come from the oleander that is common in this area .
Worth seeing
- A Minoan tomb with an urn was found at Keratidi.
- In the Agia Triada Church (Trinity Church) there is an inscription dated March 2, 1643.
- A fountain from Ottoman times is in the west of the village.
