Shōta Arai ( Japanese 新 井 章 太 Arai Shōta ; born November 1, 1988 in Chichibu ) is a Japanese football player .

Career

Arai learned to play soccer on the school team at Shochi Fukaya High School and the college team at Kokushikan University . He signed his first contract with Tokyo Verdy in 2011 . The club played in the second highest league in the country, the J2 League . In 2013 he moved to the first division club Kawasaki Frontale . With the club he became Japanese champions in 2017 and 2018 . For the club he completed 41 first division games. In 2020 he moved to the second division team JEF United Chiba .
