Shūichi Uemura ( Japanese 植 村 修 一 , Uemura Shūichi ; born December 3, 1966 in Kagoshima Prefecture ) is a former Japanese football player .

Career

Uemura learned to play soccer on the school team at Shimabara Commercial High School and the university team at Tokai University . He signed his first contract with Toyota Motors in 1987 . The club played in the highest league in the country, the Japan Soccer League . At the end of the 1988/89 season, the club was relegated to Division 2. For the club he completed 59 games. In 1992 he switched to Kyoto Shiko (today: Kyoto Purple Sanga). The club played in the second highest league in the country, the Japan Football League . In 1995 he was runner-up with the club in the Japan Football League and rose to the J1 League . For the club he completed 61 games. At the end of 1996 he ended his career as a football player.
