ShadowKeep is an English power and progressive metal band from Guildford that was formed in 1999.
history
The band was formed in 1999 by guitarists Chris Allen and Nikki Robson. In October they recorded an EP with singer Rogue M. at Thin Ice Studios , with Threshold guitarist Karl Groom as producer. The song Dark Tower could be heard on a sampler of a German magazine, whereby the band reached a contract in June 2000 with Limb Music Productions . The first two albums Corruption Within and A Chaos Theory were released on this label . The band performed with Ronnie James Dio , Halford , Symphony X , Dream Evil and Flotsam and Jetsam and played in the UK , America , Germany and the Netherlands , among others . Meanwhile, the line-up of the band changed several times, including bassist Stony Grantham. Then began work on the third album The Hourglass Effect , again with Karl Groom at Thin Ice Studios. Meanwhile, singer Richie Wicks, who previously worked for Tygers of Pan Tang and Angel Witch , and drummer Omar Hayes joined the cast. After the band had signed a contract with Melissa Records , the album was released in November 2008. In 2009, Wicks left the band and was replaced by Matt Oakman shortly thereafter.
