The Shamrock Glacier is located in the Neacola Mountains in Alaska ( USA ). The glacier name ( shamrock English for "clover leaf") was reported in 1927 by the US Geological Survey (USGS) .
The Shamrock Glacier is a 15 mile long valley glacier in the north of the Neacola Mountains. The glacier's nutrient zone is located in a glaciated region south of Chakachamna Lake at an altitude of 2000 m . The Shamrock Glacier flows northeast for 18.5 km. Then a tribute glacier meets the Shamrock glacier from the right and this flows for the last 5.5 km in a north-northwest direction. The glacier ends at an altitude of 346 m . The glacier tongue used to run between Kenibuna Lake to the west and Chakachamna Lake to the east. Due to the glacier retreat, a glacial edge lake , Shamrock Lake, has formed at the foot of the glacier .
