Shane Acker
Shane Acker (* 1971 in Wheaton , Illinois ) is an American animated film director , screenwriter , film producer and animator .
Acker was responsible for the special effects in the film The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King in 2003 . He already had some success at festivals with his short films when he was nominated for an Oscar in 2006 for his short film 9 . As a result, Tim Burton became aware of him, who took over the production for a feature film version together with Timur Bekmambetow . The film opened in the United States on September 9, 2009.
