Student Academy Awards

The Student Academy Awards (also colloquially known as the Student Oscar ) are awards given by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to film-making students, primarily in the United States . The award ceremony was originally called the Student Film Awards and was first given in 1973. It has been held annually since 1975. The current name was introduced in 1991.

It will be awarded in four categories Prices: experimental film , animation , documentary and feature film . A prize in gold, silver and bronze is awarded. Since 1981 a separate prize has been awarded for the best foreign work.

Some of the winners have become very well known, including: Robert Zemeckis , Bob Saget , Spike Lee , Trey Parker, and John Lasseter . Some of the films were also nominated for the actual Academy Awards, in the short film category, e.g. B. Chicks in White Satin , The Janitor , Karl Hess: Toward Liberty , The Lunch Date , 9 (later re-filmed by the director under the same title ), Quiero ser , The red jacket and Der Ausreißer .
