Kleingeld is a German short film by Marc-Andreas Bochert from 1999 .
action
One day office clerk Hoffmann gives a homeless person some change not far from his place of work. The one-time gift becomes a habit. One day Hoffmann sees the handicapped man washing his car. Hoffmann forbids him and threatens to call the security guard the next time, but still gives the man change. He does without the security guard, although the homeless person continues to wash the car every day. Over time, Hoffmann begins to consciously drive his car through the mud before starting work in order to finally watch the homeless man washing his car with binoculars from his office.
One day, however, Hoffmann has no change left. He tries to get past the homeless man unobserved, but discovers him and follows Hoffmann with his money cup into the parking lot. Hoffmann tries to flee by car and hits the homeless man. This gets up and Hoffman hurries on. The next day, the homeless person is no longer in his usual place not far from Hoffmann's workplace. The car remains unwashed. After work, Hoffmann goes looking for the homeless man and finds him a few streets away. He goes to him and wants to throw a 100 DM note into his money cup. The homeless man looks at Hoffmann for a long time and finally turns around without a word and leaves. Hoffmann is left alone.
