The Lunch Date is an American short film from 1989 .
action
In a café, a woman gets up from her table to get cutlery. When she comes back, she sees a black man eating from her food at her table. She sits down and shares her meal with him. The black man then orders coffee for her and himself. When the stranger leaves, the woman looks around the room and realizes that she is not sitting at her own table.
Awards
In 1991 the film was awarded an Oscar in the Best Short Film category.
At the Cannes International Film Festival , it won the Palme d'Or in the Best Short Film category .
At the Torino Film Festival Adam Davidson received the Turin City Prize .
The film won two prizes at the Student Academy Awards : the Short Film Award and the DGA Student Film Award .
