The Shanghai International Port Group ( Chinese  上海 國際 港 務 (集團) 股份有限公司 ), SIPG for short , is a Chinese company with headquarters in Shanghai . The company is listed in the SSE 50 share index. SIPG operates the terminals in the port of Shanghai .

The company was founded in 2003 when supervision and operation were separated due to a reorganization of the port administration. In 2004 the SIPG was converted into a closed stock corporation, which is majority controlled by the city of Shanghai . The remaining shares are distributed among various private investors.

The company is headed by Lu Haihu . In 2006, SIPG handled 537 million tons of cargo. Around 55,000 ships, including 23,000 container ships, were loaded in the port in 2006. The more than 20,000 employees achieved 2006 sales of US $ 1.32 billion and net income of US $ 270 million.

SIPG has owned the Shanghai SIPG soccer club since 2013 . In this context, there has been a cooperation with Hamburger SV since 2016 , which will receive five million euros from SIPG by 2018 for advising the club from the twin city on setting up structures in the youth and management area. Since the contract expires in summer 2018, negotiations are being held to expand the cooperation.
