Shanhaijing
The Shānhǎijīng (Chinese: 山海經 / 山海经), translated as "Classics of the Mountains and Seas", is a work of Chinese literature .

It is the oldest traditional work in Chinese mythology . It is about the mythological tales of ancient times, mythical geography, mythical flora and fauna, folk legends and similar subjects.
In ancient times, the work was attributed to Yu the Great , the mythical founder of the Xia dynasty . Its date of origin is estimated from the dawn of the Warring States Period to the Han Dynasty , and it is likely based on older oral traditions. The current version comes from the Western Han dynasty and the work is probably no longer fully recorded.
The Shanhaijing contains 18 chapters, which consist of a total of 31,000 characters.
The chapters are divided into the Book of Mountains (Shanjing), the Book of the Outer Seas (Haiwaijing), the Book of the Inner Seas (Haineijing), the Book of the Great Wilderness (Dahuangjing) and a second Haineijing, which summarizes the previous books .

The Shanhaijing describes about 100 mythical countries and their geography and flora and fauna, 550 mythical mountains and waters and the like. His most famous stories are about Huang Di , Nu Gua , Xiwangmu , the Gonggong monster , Yi the archer , the god Tian Di and Yu the great. His first comment is from Liu Xiang .
