Sharron Levy (born November 17, 1977 in Haifa ) is an Israeli pop singer who became known through the casting show The Voice of Germany .

biography

Sharron Levy grew up in Tel Aviv and London. She studied music production and was the singer in the Newcastle-based band Captive Audio from 2005 . When she successfully released some cover songs on YouTube , it turned into a solo career. She lived in London until 2010, then moved to Salzburg and performed as a musician in German-speaking countries.

In 2011 Levy took part in the new casting show format The Voice of Germany . She was brought into her group by Coach Nena . Her interpretation of Gotye's top hit Somebody That I Used to Know was so successful that it reached number 26 in the German charts through download sales in the week after the show. She achieved the second best result of all show participants after Benny Fiedler's 25th place after the first live round and in Austria and Switzerland even the best result of all participants. In none of the live shows she was able to win the public voting and was brought one round each time by Coach Nena. In the semifinals, Nena then behaved neutrally and left the decision to the spectators alone. They chose Kim Sanders and Sharron Levy was eliminated.

She then spent over a year creating her debut album Rough Ready . She was supported by bassist Derek van Krogh, who also produced the album, guitarist John Andrews and drummer Philipp Palm. September 13, 2013 was announced as the release date. The musicians have worked with various artists and are part of Nena's band .
