Shaul Oettinger
Shaul Oettinger (* 1922 as Paul Oettinger in Regensburg ) is a German-Israeli writer .
Shaul Oettinger was a son of Fritz and Else Oettinger. The father later had a prosperous legal practice and, as an FDP member, was a member of the Regensburg City Council . He emigrated to Palestine as a child in 1939 , where he called himself Shaul . He lived in a kibbutz for twenty years and was actively involved in building modern Israel . From 1961 he taught Hebrew , literature, history and philosophy in Cologne , wrote for the radio and led study trips to the Middle East .
