Sheldon Reynolds
Sheldon Reynolds (born December 10, 1923 in Philadelphia , † January 25, 2003 in New York City ) was an American television producer , film director and screenwriter .
Reynolds first appeared as the producer of the 77-part television series Foreign Intrigue , which was shown from 1951 to 1955; In the years from 1954/1955 he also produced one of the first television series about the characters of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson , which showed their adventures in 39 episodes and was partly filmed in Paris . He also directed a total of around 20 episodes in the two series. In the mid-1960s he worked as a cinema director for two European productions; He made his debut in this capacity in 1956 with the drama The Fifth Column , an adaptation and condensation of the series. In 1968 he was responsible for a British spy film . With a new Holmes / Watson series in 1979/1980 in 24 episodes, he returned to his position as a television producer. Reynolds held the rights to some of Arthur Conan Doyle's works for some time thanks to the family of his temporary wife, Andrea Plunket.
