Shigetoshi Hasebe ( Japanese 長 谷 部 茂 利 , Hasebe Shigetoshi ; born April 23, 1971 in Kanagawa Prefecture ) is a former Japanese football player and coach.

Career

Hasebe learned to play football in the school team of Toin Gakuen High School and the university team of Chūō University . He signed his first contract with Verdy Kawasaki in 1994 . The club played in the highest league in the country, the J1 League . With the club he became Japanese champion in 1994 . For the club he completed 61 first division games. In August 1997 he moved to the second division side Kawasaki Frontale . In 1998 he moved to the first division club Vissel Kobe . For the club, he completed 81 top division games. In 2001 he moved to league rivals JEF United Ichihara . For the club he completed 41 first division games. In July 2003 he ended his career as a football player.
