Shijian-6

As Shijian-6 is a series of Chinese satellites called. The term Shi Jian is generally used in China for research satellites.

So far, eight satellites of this series have been brought into a sun-synchronous orbit (about 600 km orbit altitude, inclination 97.7 ° each), with the launch always taking place in pairs. According to official Chinese figures, the satellites built by the Shanghai Academy of Space Technology (SAST) and Dongfanghong Satellite Co. Ltd., a subsidiary of the China Spacesat Corporation , are known as " space weather research satellites ". Western observers suspect, however, further (military) tasks, possibly electronic reconnaissance and positioning of ships on the oceans. The service life is specified as two years.
