Patrick Malahide

Patrick Malahide (born March 24, 1945 in Berkshire , England ) is a British actor who starred in TV and cinema productions in the United States or his homeland.

Career

Malahide was born to Irish immigrants under his real name, Patrick Gerald Duggan , after his father fought in the British Army during World War II. After graduating from school, Malahide turned to acting, but got his first film role relatively late at the age of 31.

To this day, Malahide had never played a major role in the productions in which he participated, but always worked in supporting supporting parts. He was seen in On the Hunt , Sahara Adventure in the Desert and Billy Elliot, among others . His best-known roles were those of Governor Ainslee in Die Piratenbraut (1995), the corrupt CIA man Perkins in Deadly Christmas (1996) and the cunning Swiss banker Lachaise in the teaser of the James Bond film The World Is Not Enough (1999).

In the meantime, Malahide is mainly involved in television productions in his British homeland.

In the series Game of Thrones he embodied Balon Graufreud. In the series The Paradise he plays the businessman Lord Glendenning .
