Shintarō Shimizu ( Japanese 清水 慎 太郎 , Shimizu Shintarō ; born August 23, 1992 in Saitama Prefecture ) is a Japanese football player .

Career

Shintarō Shimizu learned to play football in the youth teams of Niizaka Tayama FC Shonendan and the Urawa Red Diamonds and in the school team of Seibudai Niza Jr. High School . He signed his first professional contract with Ōmiya Ardija in 2011 . The club from Saitama , a city in the south of the Saitama prefecture of the same name , played in the country's highest league, the J1 League . He was under contract with the club until 2019. From August 2013 to January 2015 he was loaned to the second division club Fagiano Okayama . With the club from Okayama he played 42 times in the J2 League . In 2015 he returned to Ōmiya Ardija after the loan. Meanwhile, the club was relegated to the second division at the end of 2014. At the end of 2015 he became J2 champion with the club and went straight back to the top division. After two years in the first division, the club was relegated back to the second division at the end of 2017. The 2019 season he was loaned to Mito Hollyhock, who also played in the second division, to Mito . For Mito he completed 37 second division games. After the end of his contract with Ōmiya Ardija, he signed a contract with league rival Fagiano Okayama in early 2020.
