Shin'ya Tsukamoto
Shin'ya Tsukamoto ( Japanese 塚 本 晋 也 , Tsukamoto Shin'ya ; born January 1, 1960 in Tokyo Prefecture , Japan ) is a Japanese director and actor known for his aesthetically unusual and avant-garde films with surrealistic and sometimes extremely violent content is.
Tsukamoto achieved cult status with the film Tetsuo: The Iron Man , in which a Sarariman turns more and more into a machine man through bizarre and adverse circumstances. The film Tetsuo II: The Body Hammer (a Sarariman is converted into a human firearm), which partly functions as a sequel, has been confiscated in Germany (according to § 131 ).
In 2009, Tsukamoto received an invitation to compete at the 66th Venice Film Festival for his feature film Tetsuo: The Bullet Man .
