Coordinates: 30 ° 40 ′ S , 115 ° 42 ′ E The Shire of Dandaragan is a local government area (LGA) in the Australian state of Western Australia . The area is 6716 km² and has about 3200 inhabitants (2016).
Dandaragan is located in the western Australian "wheat belt" in the west of the state on the Australian west coast about 200 kilometers north of the capital Perth . The seat of the Shire Council is in Jurien Bay, where about 1500 residents live (2016).

The Dandaragan Council has nine members. They are elected by all residents of the Shire. Dandaragan is not divided into districts. The chairman of the council (Shire President) is also recruited from among the councilors.
